Well, it's Potomac Primary day! Whee! And I'm becoming more and more convinced that NBC/MSNBC and CNN in particular, and kinda ABC, too, are REALLY pulling hard for Obama these days. It's rather thinly veiled. When Karl Rove on Fox News seems like the most impartial voice I'm hearing regarding the Democratic primaries, uh, we have a problem. And I don't just mean it's the Chris Matthewses who seem partial to Obama, it's kinda everyone, across the board. The ones who are supposed to be most impartial included. I don't know if it's that they just loooooove his overly glowing speeches and his charisma or what, but it's kinda obvious and somewhat pathetic. And yeah, it's really, really annoying me. Really.
If it absolutely comes to it, I'll vote for Obama in November. But I won't be happy about it, ha.
I can't believe that North Carolina's May primary (seriously, WTF, May?) could actually be relevant this year.
I also think it's interesting that ... well, I think this is interesting, from Reuters via Yahoo via something like huffingtonpost.com via the Holland Tunnel via the I-5 corridor via the Suez Canal:
"I can't think of probably a single issue in which I am even remotely in the same universe as that guy ... and yet, he was kind of charming and ... self-deprecating," Stipe told Jane Radio host Jane Pratt, a day after watching Huckabee's Thursday appearance on CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson."
Yes, that would be R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe on Mike Huckabee. And in my oh-so brilliant private post from a few days ago, of course, for the two of you who were able to read it, I found myself thinking the same thing. I sorta do like Huckabee, even if I would never vote for him. I thought it was interesting that someone else feels the same way. I think Huckabee seems like a good guy. I like watching him in interviews more than any of the candidates in a way. So yeah, thanks for that, Michael Stipe!
Yeah, I really don't want to have to vote Obama in November. I want it to be Hillary. And if she doesn't get the nomination? Ugh. Yeah, we'll see what kind of third-party candidate pops up before I commit, ha. Maybe it's a year for a throwaway vote.
I remember back when I used to respect John McCain. Back when he had principles, when he had his own thoughts and opinions about things, when he didn't seem so totally willing to bow down to people who might help get him elected, when he didn't feel such an overhwelming need to toe the party line. Too bad he's just a fink politician now. What happened, John?
Still, he would be fifty times better than Giuliani. Yikes. And hey, Mitt Romney, that delightful declaration you made, reassuring everyone that you are in no way pro-choice, and that you're not fond of gay people, despite what it seems you've always believed, uh, it makes you sound like not only a sack of crap, but a liar, too.
Look, morons, just believe what you believe, instead of believing what might get you elected. Why do people hate politicians? Gosh, I wonder. Idiots.
But whatever. It's not like I'll be voting Republican in 2008, anyway. Probably not, anyway. I guess you never know. Lots of crappy Democratic candidates, too.
Ah, it's a happy day to be an American. You can tell the election went well by the look on Elizabeth Hasselbeck's face this morning on The View. Joy Behar's being pretty unmerciful, ha. What an awful show. But yeah, that was a fine election. The first time since I left high school that the Republicans won't be calling the shots in Congress. I feel heartened.
And even if the weather was awful last night and even if I had to vote in a new place (I miss voting on my punch cards in my old armory!), it was still fun. I love the election process, and I love casting a ballot. One of my favorite things.
In conclusion, suck it, Limbaugh. Hee.
This morning, while I was in the shower, it came time to wash my hair, and I had two choices. One choice was a shampoo with a slightly reddish tint to it. The other was a shampoo with a slightly bluish tint. I chose the blue. Can't hurt.
Today's Question of the Day here at Vox? Lamest. Question. Ever. I suggest a boycott of the QotD today.
Nerds. What are you gonna do?
